Having the goal of losing weight is one thing but having the motivation to lose weight will be the key to your success. Here are some motivational strategies to help you reach your weight lose goals. Choose which one is right for you.

1) Have a friendly contest – Find someone you know who also wants to lose weight. Your motivation will increase when you are checking in with someone. The added reward of winning a friendly competition can be incredibly motivating.
2) Find yourself a support group – Increase the speed in which you lose weight by having a group and mentor to hold you accountable. Ongoing support, guidance and a sense of teamwork will help to keep you on track.
3) Consider the benefits – A steady focus on the rewards as opposed to the focus being on what you can or can not eat will help to push you forward. Focus on the great changes you are bringing into your life.
4) Begin each day with a positive start – A healthy breakfast will kick start your day and it will encourage you to have a “healthy” day. An example of a “kick start” breakfast includes a protein, whole-grain carbohydrates and some fruit.
5) Set small goals – Setting a series of small goals will help to keep you motivated. These small goals aimed at losing weight will actually help lead to the drop in weight you desire because each time you reach a goal you will motivate yourself to reach for your next goal. Some examples of small goals would be, eating a healthy breakfast, no dessert after meals, eat some fruit and drink a glass of water before every meal, etc…)
